Between January 2019 and February 2020, I produced, researched, wrote, filmed and edited more than 30 digital features to accompany and further enrich the Iowa PBS feature-length documentary, "Carrie Chapman Catt: Warrior for Women.” I also worked as a production assistant for the documentary, alongside producer/writer/editor Laurel Bower, executive producer Deb Herbold and videographer Cameron McCoy. Our team won an Emmy in the historical documentary category! The entire project can be found here: http://www.iowapbs.org/catt. My personal favorite pieces that I produced are below.

Boone Suffrage Parade

The 1908 suffrage parade in Boone was one of the first suffrage parades in the nation. It served as a turning point in the history of the suffrage movement in Iowa, as it was said to be the first public display in support of women’s suffrage in the state.

Commitment to a Cause: Women’s Suffrage in Iowa

A short documentary that highlights the history of the fight for women’s suffrage in Iowa, which lasted more than 50 years.

THE 1916 REFERENDUM

Four years before the 19th Amendment was ratified, women in Iowa almost won the right to vote.

BEHIND THE SCENES

A behind-the-scenes look at the making of the documentary.
